Cheesecakes are the guilty pleasure we all deserve. These days they are widely available in most good restaurants. Cheesecake is a sweet dessert consisting of one or more layers. The main, and thickest layer, consists of a mixture of soft, fresh cheese, eggs, and sugar. If there is a bottom layer, it often consists of a crust or base made from crushed cookies, graham crackers, pastry.
It is smooth, creamy and melts in your mouth. Cheesecakes are usually served with a compote. Compote is a syrup made of whole or pieces of fruit in sugar syrup. Whole fruits are cooked in water with sugar and spices.
We enjoy cheesecakes with compote because they add a lovely contrasting taste. For example a Strawberry compote gives the creamy cheesecake a fresh, tangy, sugary flavour which completes the dish. Another famous compote is the blueberry compote which works the same way.
Here is a collection of the Best Cheesecakes I’ve had:
First up is this beautiful BlueBerry Cheesecake from The Pasta Bowl Company, Crosspoint Mall. It’s so cheesy! Also, they’ve put a considerable amount of compote so no bite feels dry. Absolute boss of a dessert
Next up is this White Chocolate Strawberry Cheescake from Comorin, Two Horizon center. The additional chocolate definitely makes this creative and even more flavourful! The strawberry chunks on top complete this dessert!
Finally, our last and best cheesecake has to be our own HOMEMADE Strawberry cheesecake. Using crushed biscuits for the base and loads of cream cheese, this is a beauty. The compote was homemade too, made by boiling strawberry with some sugar and orange juice for some extra tanginess. (Recipe out soon)
Trying out cheesecakes in all the restaurants has earned the title of a tradition of some sort. It has become our measure of the greatness of the entire meal- the beauty of the dessert.
Because if you don’t crave for more with every bite of a dessert, are you even having a dessert?
Enjoy my Beautifoooodies!
