A Hand-Rolled Pasta Paradise

The Pasta Bowl Company in Crosspoint Mall, Gurgaon has mastered the art of Hand-rolled pastas. An aesthetic cafe with the aroma of fresh breads, sunlight, and great food, it is definitely an ideal place for a summer date.

Although they do offer pizzas, don’t miss out the pastas please. You’ll go to this place multiple times just to have the luxury of trying out every pasta on their menu. The menu changes in Summers and Winters, so that’s double the variety to cover!

First, we have some lovely fresh Focaccia Bread. Focaccia is an Italian flat bread. It was created in Italy for the mine workers/labourers to serve as a meal since it has carbohydrates and some vegetables on top. Here, it was served with some fresh basil pesto sauce. It acts as the perfect appetizers because you get an idea of the great food coming up soon!

We also had some mocktails! You can see the Virgin Mojito loaded with fresh mint and lemon, and a gingerale.

Our first hand-rolled pasta is the Ravioli in Tomato & Parmesan sauce. The Flavour was perfect. With a crispy garlic bread, this dish is a winner. Ravioli are a type of pasta comprising a filling enveloped in thin pasta dough. Usually served in broth or with a sauce, they originated as a traditional food in Italian cuisine. Ravioli serves as the general name for the family of Stuffed pastas! Other variants include Cappelletti (Circular in Shape), Tortellini (Ring-shaped) etc.

One of the variants of Ravioli is available at Pasta Bowl Company. Here we have the Marinara Cappelletti. Cappelletti is a stuffed hand-rolled pasta. It is bigger than a ravioli and is usually circular in shape. Although I liked the filling, I think the stuffing was a bit less and the corners became a bit thick.

Our last hand-rolled pasta is the Pesto Gnocchi. Gnocchi are thick, small, and soft dough dumplings usually made of flour and mashed potatoes. It is creamy, dense and heavy which is why gnocchi with fresh and light pesto is such a great combination.

Gnocchi is a rare dish to be found in Italian restaurants in India. Pasta Bowl Company dares to add it in their menu AND perfect the flavour. It was so good that it melts in your mouth. I would highly recommend trying this because most people have absolutely NO idea what a Gnocchi is. Well, now you know!

(Please don’t think of calories while having this. All good things come at a price 😀 )

As you can see, Pasta Bowl Company offers one of the largest variety of handrolled pastas. Most Italian restaruants either do not offer handrolled pastas or to a very limited extent. Ive tired Ravioli in various other restaurants, but Pasta Bowl has been the best so far.

I highly recommend The Pasta Bowl Company for authentic pastas!

The cost is around Rs 1500 for two persons.

Enjoy my Beautifoooodies!
